This course is provided by HRS in partnership with TrainingAid, to help HRS hotel partners understand and get more actively engaged in the HRS Green Stay Initiative. You will learn about the Green Stay Criteria for measuring and comparing your environmental footprints, and gain practical insights into how to implement key sustainability steps for your hotel.

HRS Green Stay Initiative provides travelers and corporate partners transparency over sustainability data based on the normalization of hotels environmental footprint metrics, enabling the assessment of the footprint data of hotel stays on property level. HRS hotel partners can report on areas of environmental impact such as carbon, water and waste, and Green Stay aggregates hotel sustainability performance data into the largest database using normalized sustainability data. Green Stay also encourages the businesses to compensate for unavoidable emissions through validated and credible schemes, facilitating the purchase of verified credits according to the gold standard. The HRS Green Stay Initiative was developed at the request of global HRS corporate clients who requires transparent sustainability data to ensure that they reach their own internal climate action goals and to meet government laws and regulations, e.g., the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
The HRS Green Stay Knowledge Hub provides HRS Hotel Partners with resources, courses and tools to assist in their sustainability journeys. The Knowledge Hub is available to all HRS hotel partners (regardless of the current Green Stay status), and includes key resources on the Green Stay criteria, guidance on footprint assessment, and regular updates on sustainability trends and opportunities.
